When You Need It Most
I don't always like to vacation with my laptop, because it means that I'm all too likely to fritter away my time surfing the internet (like I do many of the hours of my regular life). Without it, though, I'm all too keenly aware of how frequently I use it as a reference or a resource -- yesterday, I discovered the Yellow Pages for the first time while trying to locate a particular store sans internet.
Or, you have a scenario like yesterday, at the Marine Center, staring at a tank full of jellyfish along with some onlookers: "How do jellyfish reproduce, anyway?"
Insert 24 hours of wild speculation and vaguely-remembered placards from the Monterey Bay Aquarium here.
(I've been on vacation, by the way. More later.)
