I woke up this morning with a song from Waiting for Guffman (or should that be a song from Red, White, and Blaine?) stuck in my head -- "A Penny for Your Thoughts." Considering that I normally go around singing "Stool Boom," this is a nice change of pace. But it's been getting annoying.

Thankfully, the professor with the office across the hall from us -- whose voice has the ability to travel through two closed doors and two separate concrete cinder block walls -- has inexplicably started singing the Backstreet Boys' "I Want it That Way" to the students he's conferencing with. As a song built entirely on hooks, I anticipate that I'll be singing it for the rest of the day. Now I'll be trying to figure out how I can use my extensive knowledge of the boy bands of the 90s as an effective pedagogical tool.
