It seems like we missed the boat on awesome autumn foliage this year. Things were looking so promising at the beginning of the month, and then we were hit with a couple of weeks of rain and abnormally cold temperatures. Now, most of the trees around here are still grimly clinging to their leaves, which are transitioning from green to brown on the branches. I suppose there’s a sense of entitlement at work: when we spend half the year in winter, I expect to be duly compensated by nature beforehand.
