Tasting the Rage (Of Walnut-Brain)
I’ve written before about how our cats have adopted a series of behaviors that their tiny little brains have somehow typed as annoying to humans. In the case of Sebastian, this involves licking some of the glazed tiles on the bathroom wall. (No, Sebastian. Stop… licking the tile?) In the case of Garth, he’s largely moved on from licking the bedroom curtains to trying to eat the cords of the various conference nametags that we have hanging from our office door. Exhibit A: in action.
I’m pretty sure he picked this up because, in his little kitty noggin, the white elastic cords bear a faint resemblance to the verboten iPod headphone cords of allure that he’ll attempt to ingest at any opportunity. We’re not quite as attached to the nametag elastics, though, so I’m happy to let him lap away at them and feign occasional offense.
At least, I thought this was an innocuous habit until we removed the nametags the other day.
Turns out that rage tastes a lot like wood varnish.
