What It All Means
Site maintenance trivia: for the past year or so, I’ve been trying out various WordPress widgets that would let me efficiently maintain a relatively non-obnoxious (i.e. Javascript and Flash-free) list of books and albums in my sidebar. And everything that I’ve tried has come up way short — either they possess extremely limited features, an absurdly inefficient user interface, can’t handle books and media, don’t work with my current version of WP, or malfunction in some spectacular way and shut down the site entirely (oops). After a year in this low-key sidebar-less limbo, however, I realized that I actually missed keeping a running list of books that I’m reading, purely for my own reference. (I recently noticed that I’m reading, like, five books at present, which might explain why I can never seem to finish any of them in a timely manner.)
And so, the mission for Jejune.net holds true, even almost ten years (!!) after its original conception: above all else, it amuses me.

One of my goals for this winter has been to get more photos of the city, and so far I’ve failed miserably at doing so because winter is, like, cold, and I tend to forget about things like shutter speed and standing still in my haste to keep moving. Things I still wish to share for informative purposes, however:
A) The Christmas trees put up along rue Laurier are actually zip-tied together in pairs around the lampposts. The end result is actually way more charming than it has any right to be.
B) The most Montreal of sights: a dépanneur delivery bike.
This is how your corner store delivers your beer back to your apartment. Obviously, it plays a crucial role within the Quebec economy.
