I went over to a friend's place the other night to watch a cheesy popcorn movie, eat junk food, and do some unstrenuous socializing. Because I'm currently grooving on knitting socks right now -- they're not too complicated, fun, small, and very portable -- I stuck them in my purse so my brain would be at least partially occupied while watching humans fight a post-apocalyptic dragon-ridden future.
I was seated in the corner as the movie was about to start, but as soon as I took out my sock the focus of the entire room shifted. "That's so cool!" "What is that?" "Let me see!" "Can you teach me how to do that?" I'm not sure what to make of the fuss, because it was totally unsolicited. Is it a sign of knitting's purported trendiness? Are these individuals all sock-deprived? Or are they just really nice? I'm guessing the latter. We'll see what happens once I take the knit to the bus.
I would have done the same...I would have said, "OH! OH! OH! Show me how!" Sounds like they were genuinely interested in your crafty skills!
what's up with the site you get directed to by your link, pt*:)? it doesn't say 'http://pepperminttina.blogspot.com/' when you hover on the link. hmmm.
I dunno, it's typed out in the box thingie...
I just added the http:// before the actual url...wonder if that helps?
tru dat! last week I was knitting at the bus stop and ended up helping some dude with his crossword. It make you heaps more approachable so heres hoping your bus ppl arn't too freaky!
