Baby Aran
Can you believe that it's taken me so long to knit baby things?
Materials: GGH Samoa (50% cotton, 50% acrylic) in purple from Lakeside Fibers; Baby Aran pattern from Knitting For Baby.Time: 1 month.
Cost: not saying — it’s a present!
I knit the bulk of the main body of this baby sweater when, of all things, I was reviewing my notes during the week before prelims. Contrary to appearances, the cable pattern is super-easy to memorize and doesn't require much thought at all.
Flying Aran in the front yard.
I have nothing but good things to say about this pattern from Knitting For Baby -- it was very well-written, and could be executed by nearly anybody with the proper amount of determination.
From above.
I love how defined the cables are. I'm picky about my cottons, but I'm considering another cabled cotton sweater for myself -- something slightly larger, of course.
Up close.
Addendum, May 2007:
A shot of the Baby Aran in the wild!
So cute! Love the action shot. Those are always my favorite too.
