I was initially a fan of this pattern because it was so thorough and simple -- knit a garter stitch rectangle, short-rowing periodically to make it wider at one end than the other, and stick a thumbhole through it somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately, I must have miscalculated my gauge (and the recipient has large hands), so I ended up expanding and improvising a lot. Also, I used a provisional cast-on, so the three-needle bindoff left less of a seam.
But whatever. The pictures in the book showed these being knit up on tweedy, nubbly yarn, but they look good in Lamb's Pride, I think because of the relatively tight gauge. They were relatively uncomplicated, and the recipient wears them lots. I think that I'll eventually whip up a pair for myself to wear in the house with my next batch of leftover yarn.
I've been trying to find this pattern without having to buy the book and so far I've been unsuccessful. If you could email me the pattern, I'd be much obliged.
